The State of the Region has included Junior Achievement of Tampa Bay in it’s ‘Promising Practices’ series. Specifically focused on the impact of 3DE by Junior Achievement on the region as a solution provider to issues from high school graduation rates to bridging the economic equity gap.

March, 2021

Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) partnered with 3DE Schools by Junior Achievement to deliver the HCSO 3DE Case Challenge to Chamberlain High School and Hillsborough High School. Through 3DE’s case competency-based method and integrating private/public partnerships, students experience increased learning engagement advancing measurable gains in academic proficiency, skills, and mindset. 

The HCSO 3DE Case Challenge required students to work collaboratively with the support of HCSO volunteer coaches to solve the issue of communicating mental health issues with students successfully. After several weeks of integrating this case challenge across their core subjects, the students presented their case to judges from HCSO. The winning teams were presented with Apple iPads and AirPods courtesy of HCSO as a reward for their work.

February, 2021

The Junior Achievement Florida Foundation has announced that it has received a $60,000 grant from State Farm. The state-wide initiative will support Junior Achievement learning experiences in eight localities throughout Florida, enabling thousands of young people to participate in JA’s nationally recognized financial literacy and work readiness learning experiences. 

Each JA area will use the support to advance learning experiences most needed in their region. JA Tampa Bay will deliver JA Inspire Virtual Career Expo supplemented with the JA Digital Career App. The virtual platforms provide middle and high school students with a highly interactive virtual career fair, where they engage with over 100 businesses and educational institutions.

Junior Achievement of Tampa Bay’s latest initiative that will transform high school education has received a huge investment from Raymond James. 3DE by Junior Achievement, which will launch in four Tampa Bay area high schools in fall 2020, re-engineers high school education to be more relevant, experiential, and authentically-connected to the complexities of the real world.

Over 35 start-ups are now involved in the state-of-the-art innovation hub, seeking to drove creativity, entrepreneurial thinking, and continued growth and development to the Tampa Bay community.

Farm Grant Awarded To Junior Achievement
Junior Achievement (JA) of Tampa Bay recently announced that it has received grants totaling $18,000 to fund JA’s work readiness and financial literacy programming. The grants, from State Farm Insurance, are part of a larger statewide initiative totaling $60,000 that will support Junior Achievement programs in 11 localities throughout Florida, enabling over 5,000 young people to participate in JA’s nationally recognized economic education programs.
